Good Kids

Tonight in bed Oliver and I were going back-and-forth about how much we love each other.  I said, "you're a good kid, oliver.  Do you know that?"

Oli:  "yeah."  Pause.

"Your tummy picked good kids.  Right?"  

Me:  "It sure did!"  Absolutely!

Happy 5th Birthday, OHN!

I can't believe my baby boy is FIVE years old!  No matter his age he will ALWAYS be my baby!   Love him so much!

Goodnight Two

Good night my sweet two year old!  Tomorrow you are three!  I love you!

Last day as a two-year-old!

Here's my girl!  Tomorrow she's THREE!
Three years ago today I went to my OB for my 36 week check up and they sent me up to the 6th floor - Labor and Delivery!  My girl wasn't growing and they thought she'd do better on the "outside" so I was going to be induced!  Next day - - baby girl arrives on the bathroom floor of my hospital room!

Choo-choo. = train

Woo-woo =. Ambulance, fire truck....anything with a siren.

Baby = this can be used for many things and people.  (Mommy baby, Oli baby, etc)

Bike!

Oliver can ride a bike!  No training wheels!  Hooray!

Ivy's First Movie!

Ivy went to her first movie at the movie theater today!  She did awesome!  After about an hour she started walking around a bit.  She cheered when the good guy won - so cute!  And she ate a lot of popcorn!  

Broken arm!

Ivy broke her arm - in a jumpy bounce house!  Poor girl!  She was amazing at that hospital...such a good girl.  They took X-rays.  She watched intently when the docs put her cast on.  She's not supposed to swim...if you're going to break an arm winter might be more convenient when summer swimming isn't calling your name!  She did great - I'm so proud of her!

My Ivy

I love when Ivy says, "My Mommy!" She has such a sweet little voice and the best smile and giggle.  My Ivy!

God?

Last week Oliver asked,

"Did you see God when I was born?"

Wow.  Where did that come from?

I said, "Yes, I did.  I saw God in your eyes and again In Ivy's eyes.  In both of your tiny perfect faces."

Egg hunt

This was at Drug Town and they really just threw a lot of candy on the ground for the kids to pick up! Haha

Ivy and Tony

Here's my Ivy with our new family member, Tony. Ivy calls him Eddie. She calls him Eddie because Mimi and Grampa have an orange cat named Eddie. She is so sweet...Tony has an owie on his head and points to it and says, "owie Mama." And she has started giving him a kiss on that owie!

At bedtime

Tonight Oliver told me he didn't need his nightlight in his room.
Me: why?
Oli: I can sleep in the dark now!
(Really? When did this happen?)

I put Ivy to bed then went to Oliver's room. I climbed in his bed and he said, "Let me scootch over and you can snuggle in."
(I will snuggle in with that boy anytime!)

Stop growing up so fast.

Party Girl

Ivy with her friends, Katelyn Werhle and Asher Hamann, at the Hamann's house. We were celebrating St. Patrick's Day and Ivy, Asher, and Colin Werhle's Half-birthday! Ivy is officially 2.5years old!

My Big Kid

Oli slept in his room last night. He initiated the while thing. I stayed with him until he fell asleep then went toy room and watched tv. And I missed him terribly. He's slept in my bed since he was born and I LOVE it. He's warm and cozy and just plain awesome and so sweet and cute! He woke up once in the night and called for me so I (happily) snuggled in with my little boy.

When he got up this morning he said that "after school he was going to sleep in his bed by himself"!

After school while driving to Mimi and Grampa's house:
Oliver: I'm going to sleep by myself in my bed tonight. Without anyone. And not Ivy.
Me: What about me?
Ivy: No I want to sleep in my bed like a Big Kid does. But, if I get scared, I can come to your room...right?
Me: Yes, of course! (Heart melting for my sweet boy).

I know he's been thinking about sleeping in his bed - I think he's been giving it a lot of thought. I miss my small boy but am proud he's trying this out. I want to pick him up and put him in my bed but I know he needs to do this...but it's hard to let him go even just a little.

I love you, Oliver Hughes Neppl.
AND I love my Ivy Girl - she's snoozing in her room with her empty bottle and Elmo by her side. Love her.

Tonight while cuddling in bed:
O: You smell good.
Me: oh? What so I smell like?
O: like...like my mommy.

What a tender moment. That's the best thing anyone has ever said to me. It's the best compliment. Ever.

I'm Oliver's mommy. I'm Ivy's mommy. The two best things I've ever done in my life.
